Air conditioner installation & repair in Sofia: what to know

In Sofia an air conditioner is heating too: in the new builds of Manastirski Livadi, Krastova Vada and Boyana, which have no district heating, inverters run all winter, and in the panel blocks of Lyulin, Mladost and Druzhba they back up the radiators. Hence two peaks — May and June before the heat, October before the cold. Installation on block façades is often work at height; in the centre it goes into the inner courtyards of the old buildings.

What the service covers

  • Installing a new air conditioner — indoor and outdoor unit
  • Removing and relocating an air conditioner
  • Servicing and cleaning filters and units
  • Disinfection against odours and bacteria
  • Refrigerant top-up and leak checks
  • Diagnosing and repairing units that won't cool or switch on

What the price depends on

  • Capacity (BTU) and type — wall, floor or multi-split
  • Pipe length between the indoor and outdoor unit
  • Height and access for the outdoor unit — sometimes rope access is needed
  • Whether refrigerant is needed and how much
  • How complex the fault is and spare parts

Tips before you book

  • Give the make, capacity and year of the unit.
  • For installation, say where the indoor and outdoor units will go and which floor you are on.
  • Book servicing in spring — technicians are busiest in July.
  • If the unit drips inside the room, switch it off until the technician arrives.

FAQ

How much does air conditioner installation cost in Sofia?

It depends on capacity, pipe length and access to the outdoor unit location. On Helply technicians send a quote with a price — compare and choose with no prepayment.

How often should an air conditioner be serviced?

At least once a year, before summer. With heavy use or near the sea, twice a year.

Why is my air conditioner not cooling?
