Questions and answers

Before you let a stranger into your home, it is reasonable to want to know how all of this works. Here are the answers, including the awkward questions.

How a request works

How do I book a service?

βŒ„

You describe the job in a short form: what needs doing, in which city and when suits you. The request goes to providers in that category and city, and they send you quotes with a price. The first ones usually arrive within 5–15 minutes. You compare price, rating and reviews, and choose.

What does Helply cost to use?

βŒ„

It is free for clients. No fee to post a request, no commission on the job, no subscription. You pay only the provider, for the work done.

Do I need to register?

βŒ„

To post a request and receive quotes you need a phone number β€” that is how the provider reaches you. You don't have to fill in a profile first.

Can I book for another city, or on someone else's behalf?

βŒ„

Yes. Give the city in the request and the address when you agree details with the provider. Plenty of jobs are booked for parents, or for a flat the owner rents out from abroad.

The providers

Who are the providers and how are they vetted?

βŒ„

They are independent tradespeople and small firms from the city in question. Every profile is moderated before it goes public: contacts, the description of services and the photos are checked. The profile shows a rating, the number of completed jobs and reviews from real clients β€” the most honest check there is, because it builds up with every job.

Does Helply guarantee the quality of the work?

βŒ„

Helply is a marketplace, not a building or cleaning company. The work is done by the provider you choose, and the agreement is between the two of you. Our part is to show honestly who is behind the quote: rating, job history and reviews the provider cannot delete because they dislike them.

How do I choose between two quotes?

βŒ„

Don't look only at the price. The profile shows completed jobs, ratings and written reviews. Ask what the price includes, whether the work is guaranteed and whose materials are used β€” two quotes ten euros apart often differ exactly there.

Can a provider turn a job down?

βŒ„

Yes. Providers decide which requests to take β€” because of their schedule, the distance, or because the job isn't their speciality. That is why a request goes to several of them at once.

Prices and payment

Who sets the price?

βŒ„

The provider. Helply has no price list and takes no commission on the amount. Each profile states the figure that provider starts from, and the actual price arrives in the quote once they have seen your description.

How do I pay?

βŒ„

Directly to the provider, after the work is done, however you agree β€” cash or bank transfer. The platform does not take payment for jobs and never asks for money up front.

Can the price change on the spot?

βŒ„

It can, if the job turns out to be different from the description β€” a leak in the wall rather than in the trap, say. The rule is simple: any change is agreed with you before the work continues. The more precise your description, the less room there is for a surprise.

Safety and when things go wrong

What if the work is done badly?

βŒ„

Talk to the provider first β€” most cases are settled by putting it right. If that fails, write to support@helplybg.com with a description and photos. We look into it, and a justified complaint gets the provider's profile restricted or removed from the platform.

What if something is damaged during the work?

βŒ„

Document it immediately: photos of the damage, the time, what was being done. The provider who did the work is responsible. Tell us as well β€” repeated cases cost a provider access to requests.

Is it safe to give my address?

βŒ„

You give the address to the provider you chose, not to everyone who saw the request. Your phone number is used to arrange that specific job. We don't publish your personal details in profiles or listings.

How do the reviews stay honest?

βŒ„

A review is left by a client who had a job β€” not by an anonymous visitor. A provider cannot delete a review they dislike. We remove only what breaks the rules: abuse, personal data, spam.

Are there special rules for services involving children?

βŒ„

Yes. Babysitting and other services involving children carry extra requirements, set out in our child safety policy. We also recommend meeting in person before the first session.
